Roman Tony Triplitt Repeats as First Ticket Buyer
September 29, 2009 - No one knows yet what two teams will earn the right to compete in the 2009 Russell Athletic-NAIA Football National Championship at Barron Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 20. One thing’s for sure, though: Rome resident Tony Triplitt’s name will appear in the official record for this year’s game.
Triplitt was at The Forum early Tuesday morning to buy four tickets to the game, repeating his record as the first person to purchase tickets to the NAIA championship. Host Committee Co-Chair Bob Berry pointed out that Triplitt was the first person to ask how to buy tickets.
"I talked with Tony this morning at The Forum, and he is excited about being part of this important event in the life of Rome and Floyd County,” said Host Committee Co-Chair Bill Peterson, who also serves as athletic director at Shorter College. “His purchase marks the official launch of ticket sales and the start of an exciting countdown to the championship.”
Tickets are $25 and are available for purchase from The Forum by calling (706) 291-5281, (800) 858-7601, or visiting www.forumevents.org.
Also available are tickets for other championship events, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Champions of Character Breakfast, which will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at 8 a.m. at the Forum, and the NAIA Banquet of Champions, which will be held Friday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Forum. Tickets for these events are $25 for an individual or $200 for a table (seats 8).

Roman Tony Triplitt purchases four tickets to the 2009 Russell Athletic-NAIA Football National Championship
game from Teri Hollifield, who works in the box office at The Forum.

NAIA Host Committee Co-Chair Bill Peterson, left, congratulates Tony Triplitt for repeating his record as the first
person to purchase tickets for the NAIA championship. Tickets are on sale at The Forum.
